My 40 & 8 Veteran’s Honor Society is going to have a fundraiser event on July 12th, from 12 noon to 5:30 PM, and I’m going to be a part of it!! It’s a country, bluegrass, and gospel music festival, with separate acts at 12, 1, 2, 3, and 4 PM, with a finale at 5 which will include all the performers together. I’m scheduled to to perform at 2, and I hope everyone who reads this blog will come out and support our show. It will be at our own building location, indoors, at 15390 Happy Hill Road in Colonial Heights, Virginia. We’ll have food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, a beer vendor, a car show, separate parking for motorcycles, and best of all- IT’S FREE!! We’re asking for donations, but no pressure there.
In other news, the new album is all done minus the studio magic, and I have no doubt that Brother Ed and Engineer Scotty will make this album (actually, it’s called an EP because it contains less than 8 songs) sound incredible! As soon as I get the finished studio product, off to the the CD makers I will go and get them made up. Also going to do some USB flash drives for people who don’t have a CD player, and to a publisher to get the songs out on the streaming services. With any luck, I’ll have them at the music festival in July, along with my RPM hats and visors, and Angels On Horseback album as well.
The tough part of all this is that Cathy and I are moving to Fuquay Varina, North Carolina , in two weeks. We did our last shows at Brighter Living, Laurels at Willow Creek, and Lucy Corr Adult Care Center the third week of May. Going to miss going to those places- there were some really nice people there and we had fun playing at each of those locations. I’m going to have to be at the festival for at least 2 days to get all ready and set up, and we’ll hopefully be able to stay with friends now that we’ll no longer have a home in Virginia!
