We've had some problems with the site and haven't been able to post, but all is better now.

In April, Cathy and I went to the Blue Knights Southern Regional Conference in Ocala, Florida, and in true RPM fashion, I brought my guitar. Had some fun playing with Blue Knights International President Russ Harper, and it seemed that a lot of people liked our playing. I was even asked by one of the SRC Board members to bring my guitar to the next conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in October. That sounds like a plan.

On June 2nd we did an outdoor show at Carolina Gardens, "Music On The Patio", with the theme of "Country Ballads of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s". We had about 160 or so people there in absolutely perfect weather, and the show went off without a hitch. Got a lot of good feedback, and I'm excited about doing another show, maybe in April.

I started the show with my "Keep Him Safe" prayer for one of my friends and fellow guitar players, Marty Zuckerman, a Carolina Gardens resident who passed in May. Marty and I did the Christmas Show at Carolina Gardens in December. Damned if I didn't start crying while playing this song, and had to pause for a moment before finishing the song. Last week, another Carolina Gardens resident who was a friend of Marty and his family, asked me for copies of this song to give to Marty's son and daughter, and I was pleased to do so.

As I said earlier, we're making plans for a show in September, this one probably going to be one I've been thinking about doing for a while now, songs about cowboys and outlaws. I'm working on a song set for a 90 minute show, with half the songs about cowboys and the cowboy life, and the second half about outlaws. I think it'll be fun.
